Schoenborn is a grant recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts and of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. She creates her works slowly, her process unfolding over several days or even weeks. Before sculpting her pieces, she transforms her raw material by adding tiny fragments of fired clay and pigments. She then shapes the textured clay by hand. Her bowls and vases are constructed using the coiling technique, layering clay strands to build forms with poetic, sensitive, and imperfect curves.

Each piece reflects the nuances of the world, where fragility and strength, refinement and simplicity coexist. Subtly hued shadows settle into the interstices, evoking dark cave walls, volcanic slopes, or moss-covered stones. Her unglazed pieces pay tribute to the purity of both form and material.
